IPM, in cooperation with GLOBSEC, held an exclusive IPM Growth event alongside the GLOBSEC Tatra Summit 2017 that took place on the 27th and 28th of October 2017 at the Grand Hotel Kempinski in High Tatras, Slovakia.

The Tatra Summit is a prominent annual conference addressing Europe’s most pressing political, economic and financial issues. The IPM Growth event focused on IPM’s growth equity strategy for the Central Eastern European (“CEE”) region, which aims to solve the scarcity of venture capital for local innovative technologies offering a solution to global problems.

Opening remarks were given by Robert Vass, President of GLOBSEC, and the event was concluded by Mr Vazil Hudak, Vice-president of European Investment Bank. Both notable speakers stressed the need for initiatives such as IPM Growth whose mission is to support and develop innovation in the CEE region.

This joint side-event provided a prestigious forum to present IPM’s portfolio companies that offer ground-breaking technologies and solutions in the sectors of energy, transportation, IT and security. Furthermore, it enabled IPM to showcase IPM Growth as a tangible platform for this underserved and opportunistic investment market, linking up prospective investors and representatives of these sector leaders looking to further develop and commercialise their unique technologies.

IPM’s mission to support and nourish the Danube Valley potential resonated among the event’s participants, while attendees remarked that it was enlightening to listen to world-class innovators and to learn how the combination of brilliant minds and intelligent capital can help take the CEE region global. Following a warm reception from their past collaborations, IPM and GLOBSEC’s partnership on this event proved to be another success. The organisations are now preparing for their next event: a panel discussion “The Danube Valley – from Manufacturers to Innovators” on 30th November 2017, which will focus on the leading environmental and social innovations originating in Central & Eastern Europe.
