IPM is delighted to announce the launch of its partnership with a team of Korean infrastructure specialists under the banner of IPM Korea, to provide a broader service offering to its Korean investor network from its office in Seoul.
IPM Korea is being led by Chief Executive Officer, Jurae Kang, who was formerly the head of the Project Finance Planning Team at Samsung C&T. Jurae has spent more than fifteen years working across the infrastructure and alternative investment space while holding key positions in Investment Banking, Private Equity and a Trading & Investment company.
The IPM Korea team also includes Richard Park, Sebin Lim and Bongga Kim, who together bring infrastructure financing expertise spanning the banking, legal, and renewable energy development professions.
Early this year, the IPM Korea team signed a Memorandum of Understanding (“MoU”) with OCI Company Ltd., a Korean company, founded in 1959, with revenues exceeding ₩2 trillion. OCI is a global leading green energy and chemical company producing value added chemicals and materials for a broad range of industries including polysilicon, ingot and modules for solar energy solutions. The MoU outlines the parties’ intent to cooperate on establishing an investment vehicle to fund solar power projects in Korea that are engineered, constructed, operated and managed by OCI. The investment vehicle will provide equity and debt financing for such projects and is expected to be launched at the beginning of Q2 2017.
The launch of IPM Korea marks the formalisation of the relationship between IPM and the IPM Korea team, who have worked together in a variety of capacities since IPM’s inception to assist Korean investors investing in international infrastructure markets.
