Michal Kilian
Michal joined IPM as a corporate lawyer focusing on legal aspects of IPM projects and investments. Michal also provides legal advice on various day-to-day matters within the Group.
During more than a ten years practice, Michal collected a valuable legal experience in top-tier Slovak law firms. At the start of Michal’s professional career, he worked as a lawyer at the Advocacy and Legal Advice Centre under Transparency International Slovakia. Between the years 2011 and 2015 Michal joined a top-ranked law firm Hillbridges, s.r.o. as a legal trainee, where he gained a broad experience from various international commercial and energy deals. After successfully passing the bar exam in 2015 at Slovak Bar Association, Michal worked for almost four years as an attorney (Senior Associate) at Bartošík Šváby s.r.o.
During his professional career Michal developed legal expertise in various interesting projects, especially in the field of a real estate law, M&A and commercial/corporate law, while advising both the Slovak, as well as foreign clients. Michal also focused on a letting law since he represented major real estate market players within their commercial lease businesses in Slovakia. He also advised a successful Slovak e-commerce start-up in respect to individual investments by relevant foreign investors or a foreign construction consortium regarding proceeding with disputes under the FIDIC conditions of contracts.
Besides completing a master and postgraduate law programmes in Slovakia (2010 Mgr., 2014 JUDr.), Michal holds also an LL.M. degree (with distinction – cum laude) from a top-ranked university in Europe, Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam, where he studied the International Business Law (under the Vrije Universiteit Fellowship).
